About HSI
HSI's Core Values

Our core values define the character of HSI and are held before us as standards for all levels of the organization.   We value:

Family

We believe that the family is one of the strongest forces for creating and sustaining health and well-being.   We recognize that our success depends on our ability to strengthen and support families.

Community

HSI cannot successfully exist apart from the communities that we serve.   We have our greatest chance for long-lasting success when we can link clients to appropriate community support systems, strengthen those systems through our work, and help create community through our public and program activities.

Excellence

HSI is characterized by achieving solutions for our clients through integrity, quality, and professionalism; welcoming facilities; employee support; and following best-practice standards.

Accessibility

We will work to minimize economic, geographic or cultural barriers to our services.

Collaboration

Collaboration creates opportunity for us to accomplish more than we could alone, and enhances the value of our services through increased efficiency and a client-centered system.

Leadership

We seek responsibility to help solve problems for persons with life impairments.   We strive to meet the challenge of leadership by developing new and creative solutions to these problems.

Effectiveness

We seek to return increased value to our communities and those who invest in us through client improvement, efficient management systems, non-duplication of effort, and understanding the relationship between invested resources and returned outcomes.

Focus Within Washington County

The cultural and historical roots of HSI are with the people and communities within Washington County .   Because of our unique partnerships, we are able to provide a coordinated and integrated human service system that adds value to individual service components through linkages with a full continuum of care.   Moreover, our local community focus allows us to develop volunteerism and efficient collaboration with natural support systems and other service providers.
